Cherenkov Radiation

I didn't go on a trip to the Reed College Reactor in Portland. I didn't originally want to go, but now I'm bummed because I would have liked to have seen this light in real life. Cherenkov radiation is beautiful.

Cherenkov radiation is electromagnetic radiation created from a charged particle (flying off an atom during a nuclear reaction, usually an electron) moving through a medium (water in this case) faster than the speed that light would travel through it, causing this blue glow. I want to see it in real life so bad...
