I went looking through pictures
Sometimes its best if I don't go looking at pictures of things because I get a little taken over by them. Yesterday I was looking at vintage industrial stuff and now I want to go around buying up antique mid century stuff like lockers, kitchen appliances, cars, furniture, stuff. I want one of those Airstream trailers to tow behind an old truck. I want random over-machined aerodynamic metal things. I want watches and hats. I LOVE THIS STUFF!

Olden day workmen
These guys are way more bad ass than what ironworkers and such make themselves out to be these days.

24
So before I watch the new season of 24 I want to write down what I think of the series thus far.
I didn't start watching the series until two years ago, which they were already five or six seasons into the show. The first time I watched it, starting with season 1, it blew my mind and I fell in love with it. Season 2, while not quite as epic as season 1, was still fantastic. Seasons 3 and 4 were very good, and seasons 5 and 6 made me wish I was a character in the series. Oh how I loved this show and all it had to offer.
Then there was season 7. Last year (and season) was the only season I have watched on TV and not via Hulu or dvd. Okay, well I saw some of the episodes on Hulu. Season 7 started off with the little 2 hour premier called Redemption, which was AWESOME, and that led into the season. It started off with a bang. Planes and terrorists, hot FBI agents, that crazy low budget film director from Entourage, and Keiffer running around with the same Maxpedition Monsoon bag I have. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!
That was all fine and dandy till about episode 5. The story kinda got slow, the action fell off, and the plot just got a little ridiculous and drawn out. It turned into a marginally tactical soap opera. Ms. Elisha Cuthbert is marginally hot and supremely annoying in the show. I'll rant more about her later. Jack is starting to show his age in this season too, the action is way down and he's not nearly as tough as he used to be, or so it comes across. By the end of this season, Jack is critically close to death, and honestly I want to see him die so the series can end and we can remember every good from the seasons before. But no, in the last five minutes the daughter comes to his aid and it miracle time. So, more than likely, we are onto abortion 2, known as season 8.
I haven't seen anything with Elisha Cuthbert besides the show, and while she takes smoking photos really is not that attractive on film and her roll as the hero's daughter lends her to be a whiny, sissy, can't-do-jack-for-herself brat. She has the potential to be awesome, SHE'S JACK BAUER'S DAUTGHER!! She could kill everyone like her father did. But no, she is a whiny housewife now. I wish they would have killed her in season 7, or 1. They killed the mom, why not the daughter?
The premier of season 8 was last night, and I have yet to watch it. I will watch it on Hulu today, and we'll see how it goes. Honestly, I don't have high hopes, but I do want this season to pick it up, because I will not be watching the second half if it doesn't get moving by the first few episodes.
So get your pistols and tactical knives out kids, we're tuning into the Adventures of Jack Bauer once again.

Thats it, I'm going.
Austrailia, and not the fanciful east coast. I wanna play in the desert and become the colors of the dirt and sky.

Greatest surgical invention
Superglue. Thats right, superglue is one of the best surgical inventions EVER. I'm not inclined to stitch myself up (I guess I would if I HAD to) but when I do something stupid like try to cut something and slip and go right through my finger I like to avoid that long and expensive trip to the ER and just fix it myself. This is where superglue really shines. It allows idiots like myself to run that cut under a cold tap, put pressure on it so it kinda stops bleeding, and then seal that baby shut.
$2.50 for some glue? Or $250 for the trip to the hospital?
Thanks Superglue!

Kizhi Island Church
On a little Russian Island called Kizhi lies this beautiful church. Now I've never been a religious man, but I could spend days inside churches like these, just looking at the architecture and the art.

Maxpedition
I love their stuff. I would love to have about 200 or 300 dollars to buy all sorts of little attachments to go with my bags I have. I have the monsoon which I've had for over 2 years now that I love and its currently my school bag, retired from my motorcycle and travel bag. I have beat this bag mercilessly taking it out on long dirt rides and tossing it in cars and in corners. There isn't a stitch coming loose on it either!

Earlier this week I got my new traveling and motorcycle bag, the Falcon II. This thing seems really rugged and I'm looking forward to beating it in as well. Lots of MOLLE webbing for strapping stuff on, and it has a cool strapping system for snugging it down so its not very big if you're not using the space. I needed something that was a little more secure when riding than the monsoon since the monsoon is a sling. It slides around a bit and if I forget to fasten the waste strap it always gets stuck between the fender and the number plate beating again my exhaust. The Falcon II through the works next weekend on a long dirt and camping trip down to California. I have no doubts in my mind that it's up to the punishment.

Check out Maxpedition at http://www.maxpedition.com/ and take a look around. Lots of bags and accessories for your tactical and abusive gear needs.

Been Away
Well I don't think I've posted anything personal in quite some time. Life is moving right along, school is busy now, which helps keep my mind busy. I've devoted to climbing at least three times a week and totally cutting out fast food. I'm still drinking soda, but cutting back on that, but I find my food source is seriously messed up. First to go is the deep fried artificial meats and breads, and I'm going to continue eating organic foods and meats from a good butcher. We'll see if my body responds and if I don't feel quite so run down. I want to start building my strength and endurance back up. I'm not trying to bulk up by any means, just wanna be healthy again.
In addition, I've suspended my facebook account for as long as I don't want to see it anymore. If a day comes where I honestly don't care either way, I might bring it back. Over the past week I've seen many things such as lies, dishonesty, stalking, unnecessary silliness, etc., that I don't really want to see or have a part of anymore. Even things I didn't figure people would lie about I've seen. Maybe its that they honestly forgot they did something, but I was told they didn't and then I see it is. In all honesty I just need to turn my head off to it all. If I find it to be a problem later I'll just cut out the problem.
Which all wrapped up I suppose I'm saying I'm trimming down, cutting out the BS, and calming down the less important things in my life in order to let the pretty flowers grow. Since I don't have Facebook anymore, I think this place will be much busier.

Natural Order
The meek shall inherit the earth.
But only once the strong are done raping and pillaging it first and move on to Mars.
