24

So before I watch the new season of 24 I want to write down what I think of the series thus far.

I didn't start watching the series until two years ago, which they were already five or six seasons into the show. The first time I watched it, starting with season 1, it blew my mind and I fell in love with it. Season 2, while not quite as epic as season 1, was still fantastic. Seasons 3 and 4 were very good, and seasons 5 and 6 made me wish I was a character in the series. Oh how I loved this show and all it had to offer.

Then there was season 7. Last year (and season) was the only season I have watched on TV and not via Hulu or dvd. Okay, well I saw some of the episodes on Hulu. Season 7 started off with the little 2 hour premier called Redemption, which was AWESOME, and that led into the season. It started off with a bang. Planes and terrorists, hot FBI agents, that crazy low budget film director from Entourage, and Keiffer running around with the same Maxpedition Monsoon bag I have. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!

That was all fine and dandy till about episode 5. The story kinda got slow, the action fell off, and the plot just got a little ridiculous and drawn out. It turned into a marginally tactical soap opera. Ms. Elisha Cuthbert is marginally hot and supremely annoying in the show. I'll rant more about her later. Jack is starting to show his age in this season too, the action is way down and he's not nearly as tough as he used to be, or so it comes across. By the end of this season, Jack is critically close to death, and honestly I want to see him die so the series can end and we can remember every good from the seasons before. But no, in the last five minutes the daughter comes to his aid and it miracle time. So, more than likely, we are onto abortion 2, known as season 8.

I haven't seen anything with Elisha Cuthbert besides the show, and while she takes smoking photos really is not that attractive on film and her roll as the hero's daughter lends her to be a whiny, sissy, can't-do-jack-for-herself brat. She has the potential to be awesome, SHE'S JACK BAUER'S DAUTGHER!! She could kill everyone like her father did. But no, she is a whiny housewife now. I wish they would have killed her in season 7, or 1. They killed the mom, why not the daughter?

The premier of season 8 was last night, and I have yet to watch it. I will watch it on Hulu today, and we'll see how it goes. Honestly, I don't have high hopes, but I do want this season to pick it up, because I will not be watching the second half if it doesn't get moving by the first few episodes.

So get your pistols and tactical knives out kids, we're tuning into the Adventures of Jack Bauer once again.
